** SPECIAL NEEDS** Kidney defect . Seeking Sponsorship $35 + Medical Support $35 = $70 monthly
My name is Robert. I will be one on May 7, 2021. I live in the small village of Zdovbytsia which is near the big city of Rivne. I like walking with my mother outdoors. On Sunday, we all go to church. I enjoy playing with my brothers and they are my closest friends. My brothers` names are Rustam who loves music and plays the piano and Rinat who is quite good at painting.
I am also friends with my grandma who always treats me to something tasty. Because I am little, I like to eat fruit, especially bananas, and dairy products.
I would like to thank you for the warmth of your heart and unselfishness. Thank you for taking care of some of our needs. You share the love of your soul and the generosity of your heart with us. You will always be welcome guests at our home.
I would like to know who you are to pray for you and your family. I would also like to know how you live, what kind of food you like, and what you do. What do you like to do in your free time? Do you have pets? Besides, I would love to have your picture.
I am looking forward to your letter.
Case-worker`s comments 2020
When the mother was on the 25th week of pregnancy, she was told that her son had an inborn kidney defect (the kidney was not visible and there was a tumor there). So, she was advised to abort her child because it was explained to her that her child would be disabled. It was thought that he would not be able to breathe on his own. It also meant that eating and defecation would be done by means of a tube. His limbs did not develop well due to the narrowing of the aorta. On the 35th week of pregnancy, the mother was advised to abort the child again. The mother gave birth to Robert.
Today Robert is calm and likes to be carried. He eats well and loves attention. Robert also enjoys playing with his brothers, having a bath, swimming, and walking. He can already utter sounds and sing.
When he was four months old, he underwent surgery during which a piece of Ductus arteriosus was removed. Every month he needs to have his heart and kidneys checked by a Doctor.
The mother and her kids live with the grandma (57 years old) and great-grandma (83 years old). The grandma has cancer, and she has already had two surgeries and chemo. Cancer has come back and now she has liver cysts. She cannot afford to go to the doctor. All the money the family has is spent on the medical treatment of baby Richard. The great-grandma has a severe form of Alzheimer`s disease.
The father of the older sons left the family four years ago because he had another woman, so now the mother and first husband are divorced. Robert`s father (second husband) does not live with the family and he doesn`t support his son.
The mother and her kids always go to the Baptist Church in Zdovbytsia village. The older sons attend Sunday school. The atmosphere is peaceful and friendly in the family. They all take care of the household and support each other. The mother gets child and social benefits. The grandmas get pensions. The older kids` father does not pay alimony, so the mother sued him for alimony. They also have a debt: they took a loan to provide Robert with medical treatment.
The family has a garden where they grow vegetables. They live in a house built in 1982. The living conditions are safe. There is electricity and water supply but the water unsuitable for drinking because there are farmers` fields nearby which are fertilized with pesticides and other chemicals that poison the water. So, they must buy water. The roof of the house leaks and needs to be fixed.
This family of many generations and many health issues will benefit by being in the Hart Child Sponsorship Program. Additional medical support can help with Robert’s needs as his heart and kidneys grow. The doctor’s appointments and medicine will be needed for many years.
This mother fought to save her son, help her to see him grow up like his older brothers.
Can you be the hands and feet of Jesus to feed the poor and provide medicine to the ill?
