CASEWORKER COMMENTS:

Dmytro is a shy and introverted toddler who has a special bond with his mother, always staying close to her. He deeply cares for her and finds comfort in her presence. Dmytro loves exploring the world with his siblings, whether it’s through drawing, playing outside, engaging in imaginative play, or discovering new activities together. His curiosity and love for adventure shine through when he’s with his family, making every moment an exciting journey of discovery and joy.

The family comprises four children from a prior marriage, and there is tension among family members. Dmytro grew up in a family where his mother welcomed her partner back after he was in prison, and together they had five children. They never got formally married. His mother takes care of her children and a grandchild, all while dealing with the difficulties of living in wartime.

The mother shoulders a significant load, handling responsibilities like meal preparation and laundry without the help of a washing machine. Because of speech difficulties, five of her children attend a specialized school in a neighboring village. Economically, the family is encountering difficulties, with the mother lacking employment and their biological father is not present in their lives. It is known that a family member physically abused Dmytro’s older sister, leading to her becoming a young mother at just the age of fifteen.

Their house comprises three small rooms, a corridor, and a small kitchen. Unfortunately, there is no direct water source, leading to reliance on neighbors. Heating is provided by a wood-burning stove, and despite the limited space, the house accommodates ten individuals. Living conditions are awful, yet the family strives to uphold cleanliness and warmth. Unfortunately, the mother does not qualify for governmental financial assistance due to the prerequisite of being employed in an official capacity for a minimum of six months – a requirement she cannot meet due to her unemployment. Dmytro and his family are in urgent need of your support.
