**YEHOR REQUIRES BOTH REGULAR + MEDICAL SPONSORSHIP**

Dear sponsor,

Hi! My name is Yehor and I am 4. I want to tell you about me.

When I was little, I had a big ouchie and had to go to the hospital. The doctors fixed me but then I didn’t like eating meat or cheese or eggs. My tummy said no. I didn’t talk for a long time. Now I can talk a little bit! I go to kindergarten but only until lunch because I eat special food. I also see a nice teacher who helps me talk better.

I have a big sister named Viktoriia. She is 11 and she helps me lots. We play and draw and build stuff. I love her.

At home we have a kitty and fishes. I feed them and play with them. They are my friends. I like going outside with my family. I like swings and slides, but I get tired fast. We don’t go far. We don’t go to church because it’s too far and I get sleepy. My mommy stays with me all the time. She doesn’t go to work because she takes care of me.

Thank you for reading about me.

Love,

 Yehor

Caseworker Comments:

Yehor is a bright and gentle four-year-old boy who finds joy in drawing, building with blocks, and playing outside, especially when he’s with his beloved cat, fish, and his big sister, who is his safe haven and best friend. Though he’s shy, his heart shines when he’s surrounded by his family. Yehor faces serious health challenges, including speech and motor delays and a congenital intolerance to gluten and lactose, which make everyday life more difficult and limit his ability to attend kindergarten or grow like other children his age. Despite these obstacles, he remains cheerful and helpful, feeding his pets and sharing quiet moments with his family. Yehor’s journey is one of courage, he requires medical sponsorship and regular sponsorship to continue thriving and becoming the boy he’s meant to be. Your help could make all the difference in giving him the chance to live a fuller, healthier childhood.

The Ferendiuk family’s story is one of quiet courage in the face of overwhelming hardship. Tetiana, a devoted mother, has been raising her two children alone since their father abandoned the family four years ago. Her youngest, Yehor, suffers from severe medical conditions that require constant care and specialized nutrition. Because of his fragile health, he can only attend kindergarten for a few hours a day, making it impossible for Tetiana to hold a job, despite her education and determination.

Originally from a small town in the Kyiv region, the family was forced to flee their home due to the ongoing war. Now displaced and living in a decent one-room apartment on the eighth floor, they receive no government support for internally displaced people. Their only income is a small monthly allowance of 6,167 UAH (about $150), nearly all of which goes toward rent and utilities. What remains is barely enough for food, let alone medicine or rehabilitation for Yehor.

To survive, Tetiana collects and sells scrap paper. She leans heavily on the kindness of local believers and humanitarian aid. Their apartment, though clean and lovingly maintained, is heartbreakingly cramped. Tetiana and Yehor share a sofa bed in the main room, while Viktoriia, the older daughter, sleeps on a small bed in the kitchen. There is no wardrobe, clothes are stored in boxes and on shelves. Most of the furniture belongs to the landlord.

And yet, Tetiana has created a space filled with love. There’s a small children’s slide donated by their local church, an aquarium with fish, a cat, and building blocks that spark imagination. Viktoriia is a bright, gifted girl who loves to draw and radiates warmth and curiosity. Yehor, despite his health challenges, is surrounded by tenderness and care.

Both children fall ill frequently, and Yehor’s dietary needs require food and vitamins the family simply cannot afford. Tetiana relies on food distributions from churches for herself and Viktoriia, while Yehor’s nutrition must come from their dwindling personal funds.

During a recent visit, we found the family without electricity. We helped restore power and replaced a broken faucet, small repairs that were beyond their means. Tetiana is doing everything she can to give her children a future. But she cannot do it alone.

Your support can be the difference between survival and stability. Between despair and hope. Please consider becoming part of the Ferendiuk family’s journey. With your help, they can begin to rebuild, not just their lives, but their dreams.
