My Dear Sponsor,

My name is Solomiia, and I am three years old. I don’t go to kindergarten yet. I live with my mommy and my big sister, and I love them so, so much.

I have friends too! My neighbor, Auntie Lesiia, and her son Oleksandr play with me and take care of me when my mommy has to go somewhere.

I really like drawing pictures and coloring in my coloring books. I also love candies and yummy sweets.

I wish every day could be a holiday, because then my mommy would bake me a cake, and I could eat sausage, which is my favorite.

With lots of love,

Solomiia

Caseworker’s Comments:

Meet Solomiia — a precious little girl whose gentle spirit shines even in the hardest of circumstances. She is a tender‑hearted toddler, full of quiet joy and innocence. Shy, calm, and cheerful, she brings warmth to everyone around her. She loves to draw, color pages, and help her mother by putting away her toys. Even at her young age, she listens carefully, loves deeply, and carries a big, compassionate heart. Her mother and older sister mean the world to her, and she adores them with all the love a child can hold. Solomiia is a wonderful little girl with a bright future ahead of her, if only she is given the chance to grow in safety and stability.

Solomiia lives with her mother and sister in extremely deplorable conditions. This is a single‑parent family. Two years ago, her father, Ivan, went missing in action while serving in the military. His disappearance left the family without emotional support, financial stability, or any state assistance, as there is still no official documentation confirming his status. The weight of this loss is felt every day, yet the family continues to hold onto faith and hope.

The family does not own a home. Kind villagers have allowed them to stay temporarily in an old house scheduled for demolition. Solomiia’s mother is unable to work, as there are no jobs in the village and her youngest child is still very small. Her child benefits have ended, leaving the family with no stable income. To survive, she helps neighbors with gardening for small earnings. Sometimes people donate food, and the family grows vegetables and makes preserves for winter. Their gratitude is sincere, but their needs remain great.

The house they live in is extremely old and unsafe. There is no fence, and the yard is dangerous for children. A nearly collapsed shed threatens to fall at any moment. The home has only two small rooms, and the entrance corridor becomes the kitchen in summer. The main room serves as the kitchen, living room, and bedroom all at once. The furniture is old and donated, and Solomiia sleeps with her mother. There is no shower, only a basin for washing, and the toilet is outdoors. There is no gas supply, and water must be heated manually on the stove or in a kettle. Lighting is dim, and the children have no desk for studying. Despite all of this, the family remains grateful simply to have a roof over their heads.

Clothes, bedding, and basic household items are donated by kind neighbors. Their few belongings are stored in old, doorless wardrobes. The house is in disrepair, lacking proper sanitation, safety, and comfort. Yet even in these hardships, Solomiia’s mother is doing everything she can to raise her daughters with love, dignity, and Christian values. Solomiia often struggles with seasonal illnesses, which adds financial strain. Her older sister, Viktoriia, is dedicated to her studies, loves singing, attends children’s church, and memorizes Scripture. This is a family that holds onto hope — a family that prays for a better future.

Because of the lack of stable income, proper housing, and basic sanitary conditions, this family is in urgent need of support through HART’s Child Sponsorship Program. Sponsoring Solomiia would provide her with regular nutrition, hygiene supplies, stability, and emotional and spiritual encouragement. Your support would not only bless Solomiia — it would strengthen an entire family that has endured loss, poverty, and uncertainty. Most importantly, it would remind them that God sees them, cares for them, and sends His people to lift up the broken-hearted.
