Dear Sponsor,

My name is Clara! I’m 8 years old and I am in Grade 2. I love physical education because I can run and play, and I also enjoy English class.

At home, I help Mom by taking out the trash, buying bread, and cleaning my shoes. I like making little dancing videos too.

I don’t remember my dad — he left to work when I was very small. Mom says he loves us. I have two sisters: Olga lives with Grandma but visits us, and Yevgeniya lives with Mom and me. We play together, even if we argue sometimes.

We live in my grandpa’s old apartment. I miss him, but being with Mom makes our home feel cozy. She is my closest person. Sometimes I go with Mom to church. I like Sunday school at Ark Church; there are many children and even homework!

Thank you so much for caring about me and my family.

With love,

Clara

Caseworker’s comments:

Clara is a gentle and curious young girl. At school, she shines in physical education, where she can run and play freely, and in English, where she delights in learning new words. At home, Clara gladly helps her mother with chores and lovingly cares for her younger sister. Though calm and thoughtful, she is also full of life — cheerful, playful, and creative. One of her greatest joys is inventing new dance moves and sharing them with her friends and family, bringing smiles wherever she goes.

But behind Clara’s bright smile lies a family struggling through very difficult times.

The family is in urgent need of support. Clara’s mother, Inna, is raising her two younger daughters, Clara and Yevgeniya, alone. Her eldest daughter, Olga, lives with their grandmother, where she has her own room but often visits. Inna divorced her first husband, Olga’s father, and later entered a relationship with another man — the father of Clara and Yevgeniya. Though they were never officially married, the girls carry his last name. Sadly, he abandoned the family, went abroad for work, and has not been in contact since, leaving Inna to shoulder the entire burden of raising her children.

Life has not been easy for Inna. From the age of 14, she struggled with light drug use. Though she never turned to hard drugs, her dependence continued on and off until 2024. In September of that year, she began using a new type of narcotic. When she learned that people had died from it, she was overcome with fear of leaving her children alone. Determined to protect them, she voluntarily entered a rehabilitation centre, where she completed a three‑month partial recovery program. During that time, the children stayed with their grandmother outside the city.

Since returning home, Inna has made a complete change in her life. She now attends the Word of Life Church in Bălți with her daughters, showing a genuine desire for a new beginning and stability for her family.

Despite her determination, Inna’s responsibilities make it impossible for her to work full‑time. She must pick Clara up from school each day at 1 p.m. and care for her younger daughter, with no relatives nearby to help. To provide for her family, she takes on part‑time cleaning for elderly people and small renovation jobs, earning only $120 to $250 per month — far too little to cover even the basics such as food, clothing, and school expenses.

The family’s financial hardship, lack of stable income, and Inna’s difficult life circumstances make sponsorship vital. Through the Child Sponsorship Program, Clara and her sisters could receive the essentials they need for learning, growth, and a healthy childhood. Sponsorship would not only ease the heavy burden on their mother but also give Clara the chance to flourish — to keep dancing, learning, and smiling, even in the face of hardship.

Your support can bring hope, stability, and a brighter future to Clara and her family.
