**VENIAMYN REQUIRES BOTH REGULAR AND MEDICAL PLEDGE**
Dear sponsor,
Hi, my name is Veniamyn. I’m 9 years old and I live in a village. I have a big family two sisters, two brothers, and me. My mom stays home and takes care of us, and my dad works at a place that makes furniture. I love my brothers and sisters so much, they’re my best friends. We play together almost every day. We also have a dog named Spanky. He’s funny and sometimes steals our shoes!
I go to school in another village. I’m in 3rd grade and I take a special program that helps me learn. I ride the bus to school and I’m there for a long time, like nine hours! First, I have lessons and then I stay for the after-school program to do homework. Then I go home on the bus. My favorite subjects are Art (I like drawing) and Labor Training (we learn how to make things). Sometimes we have to go to the shelter if there’s an air raid alarm. That part is scary, but I’m brave. At Christmas, we go to church together, all of us. I help my mom in the kitchen before the holiday she lets me mix things and taste stuff. I feel like a chef! When I grow up, I want to be a firefighter. I want to help people and be strong.
Even though we haven’t met, I’m really thankful that you want to help me and my family. That makes me feel happy inside. Thank you so much. May God bless you.
With love,
Veniamyn
Caseworker’s Report:
Veniamyn is a gentle, kind-hearted boy who finds joy in helping his mother in the kitchen, especially when chopping vegetables for salad, a task that gives him a sense of importance. Despite facing serious health challenges including epilepsy, thyroid disease, intellectual disability, and speech delay, he communicates his needs through sounds and gestures with quiet determination. His physical and mental development is significantly delayed, yet he radiates warmth and calm. Veniamyn attends an inclusive school and is known for his patience, obedience, and loving nature. One of his favorite things is caring for the family dog, Spanky, and sharing peaceful moments with those he loves, proof that his spirit shines brightly through every challenge he faces.
This large Christian family is raising five children and preparing to welcome a sixth. Their life is rooted in love and devotion, but they face significant hardships, especially as the ongoing war in Ukraine has deeply impacted their financial situation. With rising prices and a low, unstable income, the parents struggle to provide even the basic necessities their children need.
Every child in the family has developmental and physical challenges. All are affected by psychomotor delays and disabilities that require consistent medical care and monitoring. The eldest daughter suffers from severe cognitive impairment and emotional instability, caused by Residual Organic Central Nervous System Disorder. She also experiences epileptic seizures, requiring urgent and ongoing treatment. One of the younger daughters was born with a congenital heart defect secondary VSD and has already undergone surgery. Meanwhile, the mother lives with debilitating spinal issues that make even the smallest daily tasks a source of pain and difficulty.
Beyond their medical and material struggles, the family endures painful social challenges. Their children are frequently teased and humiliated at school and in their community a cruel reality that adds emotional strain to an already difficult life. Despite this, they remain a close-knit, caring unit. The parents work tirelessly to nurture their children with love and stability. They have managed to keep their home safe and in decent condition, thanks to personal effort and the kindness of others. Before the birth of their third child, the father with help from relatives worked to improve the house. When he found work at a furniture company, the director generously helped renovate their kitchen, replacing old cabinet facades at a symbolic cost.
These efforts reflect the resilience and dignity of this family, but their needs remain urgent. Support from HART’s Child Sponsorship Program would be life-changing, providing food, basic necessities, and medical aid. Just as importantly, it would offer emotional encouragement: proof to the children that someone cares, that they are not forgotten, and that hope is not beyond reach. Your help could restore their sense of stability, dignity, and the chance for each child, especially Veniamyn, to grow in an environment of compassion and opportunity.
