I love animals, especially my two cats and my dog, Pushok. I also enjoy playing football and have dreamed of becoming a firefighter since I was a child. Playing football helps me stay active and work toward that goal.
At home, I help my mother with daily chores, including feeding our piglet, carrying firewood, and caring for the animals. I also enjoy attending school and completing the assignments we receive.

Meet Oleksandr, a compassionate, hardworking, and determined young boy who consistently puts the needs of others before his own. Kind-hearted and respectful, he is known for his sincerity, strong work ethic, and willingness to help wherever he can. At school, Oleksandr enjoys Physical Education and Music, and he loves spending time outdoors. During the summer, he enjoys swimming in a nearby lake and playing soccer with his friends. At home, he is a tremendous help to his mother, caring for their piglets and chickens, assisting with chores, and taking on responsibilities well beyond his years.
Despite his positive spirit, Oleksandr’s life has been marked by significant hardship. His father passed away from liver cirrhosis caused by alcohol addiction when Oleksandr was only a few months old. Since then, he and his mother have faced life’s challenges alone. With no close relatives to support them and no financial assistance related to the loss of his father, Oleksandr’s mother has worked tirelessly to provide for her son. Their bond is incredibly strong, and she has devoted herself to raising him to be honest, kind, and respectful. In return, Oleksandr recognizes all that his mother sacrifices for him and does everything he can to help ease her burden.
The family survives on very limited income. Stable employment is difficult to find in their rural community, so Oleksandr’s mother takes on temporary jobs helping neighbors with household work whenever possible. They also gather mushrooms and berries to sell during the season, grow vegetables in their garden, and raise animals to help provide food for their table. Despite working hard, making ends meet remains a daily struggle.
Oleksandr and his mother live in a small house inherited from his grandmother. The home is very old and requires continual repairs. There is no running water inside the house, and they must rely on a well for their water supply. During the cold Ukrainian winters, the family depends entirely on a wood-burning stove for heat. Unfortunately, the stove is not sufficient to keep the house warm, forcing them to burn large amounts of expensive firewood. To keep out the cold, they cover the windows with plastic film during the winter months. Frequent power outages in their village create additional challenges, leaving them increasingly dependent on firewood for warmth and survival.
Although their home is modest, Oleksandr’s mother works hard to keep it clean and welcoming. The furniture is old and worn, but they are grateful for what they have. Oleksandr has his own place to sleep and a small space where he can study and dream about his future.
What makes this family truly remarkable is their perseverance, gratitude, and unwavering hope. Despite the many difficulties they face, Oleksandr remains cheerful, responsible, and eager to help others. He continues to work hard in school, support his mother, and dream of a brighter future.
