Dear Sponsor,
My name is Volodymyr, and I am 6 years old. I am a first‑grade student at school. I have three sisters, and I also have pets—rabbits. I love playing with them and feeding them.
My family includes my father, Vasyl, my mother, Mariana, and my sisters, Diana, Anna, and Anhelina. I help my mother make the bed and fold clothes. My father works as a general laborer, and my mother takes care of our home. We attend a Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
I can’t wait to learn more about you! Please share with me your name, birthday, hobbies, and much more.
Your friend,
Volodymyr
Caseworker Comments:
Volodymyr is a kind, open‑hearted, and responsible young boy growing up in a large family of four children. As the only son, he has three younger sisters, including a baby just a few months old. Despite his young age, Volodymyr has already shown remarkable maturity and gentleness. He is in the first grade and has adjusted well to school life. His favorite subjects are math and physical education, and he loves playing soccer.
At home, Volodymyr is a tremendous help to his parents. He feeds the family’s rabbits, makes his bed, and keeps his space tidy. He is obedient, hardworking, and deeply devoted to his sisters, whom he cares for with great affection. Like many young boys, he also enjoys helping his father with small tasks whenever he can.
The family currently lives in a rented house in a village. Their living conditions are extremely deplorable. Although the house has several rooms, the family can only afford to heat one room and the bathroom during the winter. As a result, all six family members sleep and live together in a single room to save on heating costs. The house itself requires significant repairs and improvements, but the family’s financial situation makes this impossible.
Volodymyr’s father is the sole provider, working as a general laborer. Because there are no factories or large employers in the area, he does not have stable or formal employment. He takes any work he can find—mostly in construction—to provide for his family. Despite his dedication, the income is irregular and insufficient for a family of six. Volodymyr’s mother is currently on maternity leave, caring for the children full‑time.
Financial hardship makes it difficult for the family to afford nutritious food, clothing, and medicine. There are times when even basic food is lacking. Most of the children’s clothing comes from second‑hand shops. Their vegetable garden is a blessing and helps supplement their meals, but it cannot meet all the needs of four growing children.
Despite these challenges, the family remains close‑knit, hardworking, and full of love. The parents are doing everything they can to raise their children in a stable, caring, and faith‑filled environment. They are active in their church community: the mother participates in Bible studies by phone, and Volodymyr and his sisters regularly join online Bible classes and summer camps.
Volodymyr’s health is generally good, though like many children living in difficult conditions, he often suffers from colds, which adds to the family’s medical expenses.
Because of the family’s poverty and unstable income, they are in urgent need of support through HART’s Child Sponsorship Program. Sponsoring Volodymyr would provide essential help with food, clothing, medical care, and other basic needs. Your support would offer him not only stability, but also the chance to experience a childhood filled with dignity, hope, and opportunity.
