Dear sponsor!

My sponsor was not able to continue to sponsor me so I am seeking a new sponsor to age 18.

My name is Anhelina and I am five years old. I live in the village of Udrytsk. My father helps my mother look after my little sisters. I have three sisters and one brother. I play with my sisters and sometimes we quarrel with each other. My best friend is a little girl. Her name is Vasylyna. We play with dolls and go for a walk together. At Christmas, my sister and I go and sing carols for other people. In summer, I run and play games and attend a church service on Sundays. My sister takes me to kindergarten.  I am there from 9 am to 5 pm in kindergarten every day. I like everything about kindergarten because there I have friends, paint, and learn to write letters and numbers. I like to eat bananas, yogurt, ice-cream, and candies. At home, I eat different food: pancakes, cutlets, soup, and porridge. On holidays, my mother bakes a cake, roasts fish and cooks many other tasty things. I want to be a barber when I grow up.

I would like to wish my sponsor good health, inspiration, and great success in life. Thank you very much for helping my large family and me!

This letter has been written by the mother according to Anhelina.

Case-worker’s comments 2020

Anhelina is a friendly, generous, kind, sympathetic, sociable, and cheerful girl. She likes painting and playing with her younger sisters. Anhelina enjoys attending kindergarten because she has plenty of friends there. She loves the food (omelet) that the children at kindergarten have to eat. Anhelina’s parents got divorced, so her mother married another man. In the beginning, everything was going very well but then Anhelina’s stepfather and mother started abusing alcohol which caused frequent quarrels and difficulties between parents. The stepfather loves the kids and he does not offend them. When both parents are not drinking, everything is okay in the family. The financial situation is difficult because the family lives solely on child benefits. The stepfather used to go and work abroad but since the quarantine was declared, he has been at home. The members of the local church visit the family and try to help them as much as they can. Anhelina’s mother has begun attending a home Bible, study group. The kids go to Sunday school and ask God for help. Their special prayers are that their parents will stop abusing alcohol and start going to church. The money the family gets from the state is not enough even to buy the most necessary things.? The family lives in the house that the mother inherited from her parents, who have passed away. The house needs to be repaired and prepared for winter. There is no glass in some windows. The living conditions of the family are quite poor. The house is shared by two families so only two rooms and a kitchen belong to Anhelina’s family. This is a family of two adults, four daughters, and one son.? There is very little furniture in the house: just some beds and one closet.

This family is an example of how hard it is when a father cannot work (abroad) to take care of his stepfamily.? With the Hart Child Sponsorship Program, they will get regular food packages, continued support from a local church, and caseworkers to offer encouragement to everyone.

You can be an answer to prayers that these children make at Sunday School. They are trusting in God to help them. The food packages will reduce some stress between the parents.  Please pray with the children that the parents start going to church and providing a positive home for everyone to live in.  As a sponsor, you have the opportunity to change the life of every member of this family when Anhelina is sponsored.
