My name is Artur, and I live in a city. My mom works as a nurse, and I do not have brothers or sisters, only cousins and second cousins. My best friend is Danya. We have been friends for four years, and we love hanging out, playing computer games, sharing treats, and visiting each other’s homes. He has a little brother named Bohdan, and I like playing with him too.
During Christmas, we decorate the tree, give gifts, and go to church. On school holidays, my friends and I play in the yard, make bonfires, and roast sausages. When it rains, I stay inside and read books.
I am going into the 6th grade. I take a trolleybus or a minibus to school, and my mom buys me a trolleybus pass. I spend half the day at school, and I am always happy when it is time to go home. My favorite place at school is the animal corner. There is a rabbit, a parrot, a squirrel, hamsters, and a chinchilla. I visit them during recess. We study math, Ukrainian, reading, English, geography, and history. My favorite subjects are English, shop class, and PE.
I love eating chicken legs, cereal, ice cream, candies, and noodle soup. I also eat pasta, cabbage, borscht, and cutlets. On holidays, my mom cooks tasty food like cake, chicken legs, and mashed potatoes, although I do not like mashed potatoes very much.
In my free time, I play in the yard with friends, play computer games, build with my construction sets, and sometimes read. When I grow up, I want to be a driver, or maybe something else—I am still deciding.

Artur is a sincere, kind, and open boy who has already lived through challenges no child should face. Together with his mother and grandmother, he was forced to flee his hometown of Kherson because of the occupation and danger to their lives. His mother left first with Artur, and later his grandmother joined them when staying behind became too risky. They have now lived in a city for four years, trying to rebuild their lives far from home.
Although they have slowly adapted and found a supportive church community, their financial situation remains very difficult. The family rents a small two room apartment for about 6,000 UAH each month, while their total income is only around 10,000 UAH. After paying rent, very little remains for food, clothing, transportation, and school needs.
Artur’s mother, Olha, works as a nurse in a hospital. Her job is demanding and exhausting, especially during wartime, yet she continues to serve faithfully. She attends a Bible group with Artur and her mother and helps with Day Center activities whenever she can. The family has a strong faith: Olha and her mother came to God many years ago in Kherson, and Artur is now beginning his own spiritual journey. He attends church every Sunday and finds friendship, encouragement, and stability there.
Artur is an active, fair, and generous boy. He loves walks, computer games, and learning. He studies well and is especially interested in English, history, and physical education. Despite everything he has gone through, he remains warm‑hearted and hopeful.
The family’s living conditions are modest but clean. Their rented apartment has two rooms, a kitchen, a hallway, and a bathroom. The living room holds a bed, a wardrobe, a sofa, and a mattress for Artur. All utilities are connected, but the family’s limited income makes it hard to maintain even these basic conditions.
Because of displacement, low income, and constant financial strain, Artur and his family are in a vulnerable position. They are sincere, grateful, and never take help for granted. Support through the HART Child Sponsorship Program would be a true lifeline for them, providing practical assistance, emotional encouragement, and a reminder that they are not alone in their struggles.
Including Artur in the sponsorship program would help him grow with hope, stability, and confidence in his future, while bringing much‑needed relief to his hardworking family.
