**DAMIR REQUIRES BOTH REGULAR AND MEDICAL SPONSORSHIP**
Dear Sponsor,
I would love to tell you a little about my son, Damir. He is 4 years old—full of energy, curiosity, and joy. He loves talking with both children and adults, attends kindergarten, learns English, and goes to dance classes. At home, he enjoys building with construction sets, playing with trains, and helping me cook and clean. He adores our cat, Musia. Damir already has a dream of his own: he is saving money for a car and hopes to become a high‑speed train driver one day.
Damir lives with me and his great‑grandmother. When he was only 8 months old, we had to leave the Zaporizhzhia region because of heavy shelling and move to another city. Since then, I have been working as a rewinding machine operator to support our family.
We are deeply grateful for everyone who has helped us along the way. The Salvation Church has been a true blessing, providing food, essentials, and emotional support during very difficult times.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about our family. Your kindness means more than you know. We are looking forward to getting to know you.
With gratitude,
Hanna and Damir
CASEWORKER’S COMMENTS:
Damir is an active, cheerful, and sociable little boy who brings joy to everyone around him. He makes friends easily, loves talking with others, and is full of curiosity. He attends kindergarten, learns English, and goes to dance classes. At home, he spends hours building with blocks and playing with trains. Even at his young age, he already has dreams—he wants to become a high‑speed train engineer and is proudly saving money for his “future car.”
Damir’s health, however, requires special attention. After tonsil surgery, he experienced complications and now struggles with recurring ear infections that require regular medical care and extra expenses.
The family is living through very difficult circumstances. Damir is being raised by his mother alone; his father left shortly after he was born and has not been involved in his life. When Damir was only eight months old, heavy shelling forced them to flee their home near Zaporizhzhia. They resettled in another region, where they now live in a rented one‑bedroom apartment together with Damir’s great‑grandmother. The apartment had been damaged by flooding, and although his mother managed to repaint the walls, it still needs significant repairs.
Damir’s mother grew up without parents and spent her childhood in an orphanage. Despite the hardships she has faced, she works tirelessly to care for her son. She is employed as a rewinding machine operator, working long shifts, but can only work part‑time because Damir needs her at home. Their monthly income is extremely limited, and after paying rent, utilities, and kindergarten fees, very little remains for food, clothing, hygiene products, medical care, or basic household needs.
The family’s financial situation is fragile, and the burden on Damir’s mother is heavy. She carries the responsibility of raising her son, caring for her elderly grandmother, and trying to rebuild a life far from home—all while managing the emotional weight of displacement and single parenthood.
They stay connected with their local church, which has been a blessing by providing food, clothing, and spiritual encouragement. Still, the support they receive is not enough to meet all their needs. Damir’s mother is grateful for every bit of help and continues to trust that God will provide for her family.
This family is extremely vulnerable and urgently needs support. Sponsorship through HART’s Child Sponsorship Program would give Damir access to proper nutrition, clothing, medical care, and opportunities for healthy development. It would also bring hope and stability to a mother who is doing everything she can to give her son a better future.
