Dear Sponsor,
We are the Nesterenko family. Our family is me, my husband, and our four children. My name is Olesia, and I am 36 years old. My greatest joy is caring for my loved ones—cooking, cleaning, and raising my children with love and devotion.
My daughter, Kseniia, is just 8 months old. She was born on May 12, 2025. Her birth was not easy, but I am deeply grateful to God that she is a calm and gentle baby. Kseniia already brings light into our home with her sweet smile. She loves eating and playing with her siblings, who adore her.
My son, Viacheslav, is two and a half years old. He was born on June 2, 2023. He is a brave little boy who has been fighting for his life since the day he was born. By God’s mercy, he has overcome so much. He loves sweets and playing with his toys, especially his trains, which bring him endless joy.
My daughter, Oleksandra, is 11 years old. She was born on August 30, 2014. She is very talented—she sings beautifully, dances with grace, and excels at school. Oleksandra also loves drawing and dressing up, and she dreams of a brighter future where she can share her gifts with the world.
My son, Artem, is 13 years old. He was born on June 22, 2012. He is my helper and my strength. Artem fetches water and brings firewood to light the stove. He is such a good boy, always ready to lend a hand and take care of his younger siblings.
My husband, Viacheslav, is 40 years old. He is the only provider for our family and also a defender of Ukraine. Life is not easy for him, but he works tirelessly and sacrifices much to keep us safe and cared for.
We would like to thank our dear sponsor from the bottom of our hearts for helping our family. Your kindness and generosity bring hope into our lives. May God bless you abundantly and repay you for your support.
With deepest respect and gratitude,
Mom Olesia
Caseworker Comments:
Kseniia is the youngest daughter in a large family with four children. She is a sweet, calm, and gentle little girl whose smile brings joy to everyone around her. Kseniia loves playing with her brothers and sister, and she responds warmly to the care and attention of adults. She has a healthy appetite and is growing up active and strong, despite the many challenges her family faces.
Her mother, Olesia, is currently on maternity leave and devotes herself fully to caring for Kseniia and the other children. Her father, Viacheslav, serves as a volunteer in the territorial defense, guarding the bridge in their village near the Belarusian border. This work is unpaid, as territorial defense operates on a volunteer basis, and there are no other job opportunities in the village. To provide for his family, he occasionally takes on small jobs for neighbors, but these earnings are critically insufficient to cover even the most basic needs.
The family’s living conditions are extremely difficult. They rent an old wooden house that has not been repaired for many years. The walls are neglected, the furniture is worn and partially broken, and the children’s bedding and blankets are old and in poor condition. The kitchen is in disrepair, with damaged furniture, a broken table, and very little kitchenware. The front door is falling apart and needs urgent repair.
The house has no running water, so the family must carry water from a well outside. Daily tasks such as cooking, washing, and maintaining hygiene are a constant struggle. The toilet is located outdoors, and bathing is done in a basin, as there is no bathroom. These conditions are especially harsh for small children like Kseniia, who need warmth, cleanliness, and comfort to grow and thrive.
Yet, despite these hardships, the Nesterenko home is filled with love, harmony, and mutual respect. The children are well-behaved, deeply attached to their parents, and interested in spiritual life. They attend Sunday school and are being raised with strong values. Olesia and Viacheslav are sincere and honest people who strive to give their children the best life possible, even when resources are scarce.
Kseniia is growing up in a family that surrounds her with care and affection, but they are in urgent need of support. Sponsorship through HART’s Child Sponsorship Program would provide Kseniia with essential items such as nutritious food. It would help create better living conditions for her development and ease the heavy burden on her parents. Most importantly, it would show Kseniia that she is not forgotten—that someone cares about her future and wants to give her the chance to grow up safe, healthy, and hopeful.
By sponsoring Kseniia, you are not only helping one child—you are strengthening an entire family, giving them dignity, stability, and the assurance that God’s love reaches them through your kindness.
