Dear Sponsor,
My name is Stefaniia and I am 6 years old. I live in a little town. There are 7 kids in my family. My daddy went to heaven, and my mommy stays home to take care of us. My grandpa helps us too, even though he is old and retired. I am in first grade. When I have holidays, I come home and stay with Mommy and Grandpa.
My best friend is Serhii. We are in the same class. We like to walk and play lots of games together. My favorite food is potatoes with meat and kompot.
When I have free time, I play with my dog and my hamster. When I grow up, I want to be a vet so I can help animals because I love them very much.
Dear sponsor, we would be very happy if you could help us.
With love,
Stefaniia
Caseworker Comments:
Stefaniia is a gentle, calm, and tender‑hearted six‑year‑old girl whose kindness is evident in everything she does. She is in the first grade and especially enjoys physical education, where she can run and play freely. At home, she helps her mother with simple chores such as sweeping and cleaning, always trying to make life a little easier for her family. She lovingly cares for her small hamster, a reflection of her sensitive and compassionate nature. Although she is healthy, Stefaniia needs stable support to grow, learn, and feel safe.
Stefaniia’s family is living through extremely difficult circumstances. Her mother is a widow who has endured the heartbreaking loss of two husbands and now carries the full responsibility of raising seven children alone. Two of the children are adults, but only one has steady employment, leaving the mother with an overwhelming financial burden. Five of the children are still in school, and because of the family’s limited living space and lack of resources, three of them must stay at their educational institution during the week. They return home only on weekends and holidays, which affects their emotional well‑being and their connection with the family.
The mother’s health challenges make their situation even more fragile. She has a tumor, fibroids, and lifelong kidney disease. Her ongoing medical needs prevent her from working, and the family survives only on minimal social assistance—far too little to cover even their most basic needs, let alone medical care. Their grandfather lives with them as well, but his small pension barely covers his own expenses and cannot meaningfully support the family.
The family does not have a home of their own. They rent a single small room in a dormitory, sharing the kitchen, bathroom, and toilet with neighbors. The room is outdated, the furniture is old and worn, and only two beds can fit inside. Most of the children sleep on fold‑out chairs, which affects their rest, health, and development. Every day, the family struggles with shortages of food, clothing, shoes, hygiene items, and school supplies. The children long for a normal childhood—one where they can grow, learn, and dream without fear or hunger.
This family is experiencing deep and ongoing hardship and urgently needs long‑term support. Through the HART Child Sponsorship Program, Stefaniia could receive essential food, clothing, school supplies, and other basic necessities. Just as importantly, she and her family would feel the comfort of knowing that someone cares for them. For them, sponsorship would be more than material help—it would be a sign of God’s love and provision, a reminder that they are not forgotten, and that even in their struggles, the Lord can send people who bring hope, compassion, and light.
