Dear sponsor,
My name is Zlata, and I recently turned 4 years old. I live in a beautiful city in western Ukraine with my mom, dad, two older brothers, Bohdan and Mykhailo, and my baby sister, Daryna, who was born less than a month ago. My best friend is my brother Mykhailo, and we love playing with blocks, drawing, and spending time outdoors together.
I love Christmas because I can be with my family and go to church. I also enjoy preschool when I am healthy, although I often get sick. My favorite foods are pasta, fruits, and the delicious meals my mom prepares for our family. When I grow up, I dream of becoming a children’s doctor so I can help sick children get better.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping my family. Your support is a great blessing and reminds us of God’s love and care. My family and I pray that the Lord blesses you with good health, joy, peace, and abundant blessings.
With love and gratitude,
Zlata and her family
Caseworker Comments:
Meet Zlata. At just four years old, Zlata is a bright, active, and curious little girl who brings joy everywhere she goes. In fact, it was difficult to capture a photo of her because she is always on the move, exploring, playing, and discovering the world around her. Zlata has a determined spirit and a loving heart. She enjoys listening to her mother read stories, finds creative ways to entertain herself, and loves spending time with her older brother, Mykhailo. One of her favorite activities is building sandcastles and playing in the sand for hours. Though still very young, Zlata is wise beyond her years, always eager to help her mother by tidying up her toys and bringing smiles to those around her.
Zlata is growing up in a loving family that is doing everything possible to provide stability and care for their four children despite overwhelming challenges. The family lives in an ageing home built many years ago by the children’s grandparents. While the house appears sturdy from the outside, the inside requires extensive repairs. Damaged floors, old windows, mold, the absence of an indoor bathroom, and the lack of a sewage system create difficult living conditions. The home is often cold and damp, and much of the family’s limited income goes toward heating, medications, and basic necessities.
The family’s struggles extend beyond their housing situation. Zlata’s father battles chronic asthma and severe skin conditions that sometimes prevent him from working consistently, while her mother, Nadia, recently endured a difficult pregnancy before giving birth to Zlata’s baby sister. Their son Mykhailo faces developmental challenges and requires additional educational support, while their oldest child, Bohdan, struggles with ongoing health concerns. Despite these difficulties, the parents work tirelessly to care for their children and create a better future for them.
What stands out most about this family is not their hardship, but their perseverance. Over the past year, they have made significant efforts to improve their lives, repairing parts of their home, prioritizing their children’s education, and seeking opportunities for growth. They are open to the church, attend services, when possible, read a children’s Bible together, and desire to build their family on Christian values. During our visits, we have seen parents who genuinely love their children and are committed to providing them with hope and opportunity.
By sponsoring Zlata, you can become part of God’s work in this family’s life. Your support will not only help meet practical needs such as food, education, and child development opportunities, but it will also provide encouragement, hope, and spiritual support during a challenging season. Most importantly, your sponsorship will remind Zlata and her family that they are seen, loved, and not forgotten. Through your generosity, you can help this precious little girl continue to grow in a safe, nurturing environment while showing the entire family the love and compassion of Christ.
