Dear Sponsor,

My name is Emiliia, and I am 3 years old. I go to preschool, and I have lots of friends there! I love to dance, sing, draw, and make funny little shapes from plasticine. I live in a city with my mommy and my grandma, and I love them very, very much.

Mommy and I make crafts together, play hide‑and‑seek, and ride my scooter outside. My grandma teaches me how to count, how to sing songs, and how to say poems. I love her hugs the most. I love animals too, but we don’t have any at home yet.

I love my Ukraine, and every day I pray for peace for my country.

I will be so happy to meet you, my dear friend. Thank you with all my tiny, happy heart.

With love,

Emiliia

Caseworker’s Comments:

Emiliia is a joyful, bright, and tender little girl whose smile lights up every room she enters. At only three years old, she is already growing into a kind, open, and sociable child who easily connects with both adults and other children. She loves drawing, singing, and shaping little figures from plasticine. Kindergarten is one of her favourite places, she runs there with excitement, eager to learn, create, and discover the world God has made.

Emiliia lives in Rivne with her mother, Veronika, and her elderly grandmother. Their home is filled with love, gentleness, and prayer, but their circumstances are difficult. They live together in a deplorable three‑room apartment that belongs to the grandmother. It is clean, warm, and lovingly cared for, but it is in need of renovation. Veronika began repairing one of the rooms herself to create a comfortable space for her daughter, but due to financial hardship, she was unable to continue.

Veronika is raising Emiliia on her own. The parents separated when Emiliia was only six months old. Her father provides a small monthly contribution, but this amount does not come close to covering the family’s basic needs. Veronika cannot work at this time because she must provide constant care for her 78‑year‑old mother, who suffers from serious health issues: heart disease, high blood pressure, and severe knee problems requiring replacement. Between caring for her mother and her young daughter, stable employment is impossible.

Before her health declined, Veronika lived a very different life. She was deeply involved in sports—basketball and swimming and nearly reached the level of Master of Sports. She studied choreography and had a promising career ahead of her. But due to medical issues, she had to give up her profession and dreams. Later, doctors told her she would never be able to have children. Yet by God’s grace, at the age of 39, she gave birth to her miracle—little Emiliia. Because of this, the child is surrounded by immense love, tenderness, and gratitude every single day.

Despite their devotion, the family struggles to meet even the simplest needs: food, clothing, medicine, and essential items for a growing child. Some months are especially difficult, but Veronika is humble and rarely speaks about their hardships. The church does what it can to support them, but the needs are greater than the resources available.

Emiliia is generally healthy, but like many young children in daycare, she often becomes sick. Each illness adds emotional and financial strain to a family already stretched thin.

What this family needs most is stability, something they have not had for a long time. Sponsorship through HART’s Child Sponsorship Program would be a lifeline for them. It would ensure that Emiliia has proper nutrition and a safe environment to grow. It would also give Veronika the peace of mind that her daughter’s basic needs are met, allowing her to focus on caring for her elderly mother.

Sponsorship would not simply provide financial help—it would offer hope, dignity, and the reassurance that they are not alone. It would be an act of Christian love, a reflection of Christ’s call to care for those in need.
