Ukraine at War – Update 10, 2026

Summer Camp Fundraiser 2026 – Double Your Impact

Hope in the Red Zone

From the ‘Red Zone’ front lines of one of the world’s most dangerous conflict zones, a story of grace is unfolding.

In the Kherson region of southern Ukraine — where daily explosions are the backdrop to childhood — a team of faithful believers is bringing the light of Christ into deep darkness, through summer camps!

FROM PASTOR ZHENYA:

I warmly greet you with the love of our Lord Jesus Christ, and I deeply thank you for your involvement in the life of our region. The children of the Kherson region live surrounded by daily explosions and know the horrors of war not from social media, but firsthand.

Please read my report and pray about our camps for children, such as this. These moments in camp are remembered for a lifetime. It is love that remains in a child’s memory and will accompany them throughout their life. -Zhenya

Illia’s Path

Read this story about a remarkable young boy and how HART supporters have impacted his life. This letter from Illia, age 14, is a story of faith, family, responsibility, and a one-week camp that means so much more than a week.

Andriana’s story

[Over time, many former campers grow into counselors, youth leaders, pastors, volunteers, teachers, and compassionate leaders within their own communities. Here is one of those stories being written today.]

My name is Andriana. I am 15 and part of the HART Child Sponsorship Program.

This year at camp, I was a leader for the first time. Together with my friend, Marta, we had a group of 8–10-year-old girls. I want to share my impressions of the camp—it was an incredibly fun time! Every day was filled with laughter and new adventures. We got to know each other, competed in relays, and created mottos and skits to present our team.

This camp was very special for me because I took on such a big responsibility for the first time. I had wonderful children in my group. Although I have been to camp many times, each one brings something new—new emotions, new experiences.

Every morning, afternoon, and evening at mealtimes, the children sincerely thanked the cooks for the delicious food. Each day we had creative workshops, and the girls took an active part. They always came out of the sessions with excitement in their eyes.

Also, this year I led Bible lessons for the first time. I was truly happy to see that the girls were interested in listening. When I shared with them about forgiveness, they immediately remembered friends they had been upset with and promised to forgive them.

I am thankful to God and to everyone who helps make these camps possible. It was such a wonderful opportunity for me, and I truly hope I can return as a leader again. – Andriana

Kyiv Independent – Analysis

This Kyiv Independent article argues that while it may be too early to say Ukraine is definitively “winning” the war, there are growing signs that momentum on several fronts is shifting away from Russia. The piece pushes back against simplistic narratives and instead highlights a more nuanced reality: Russia remains dangerous and capable of destruction, but it is also increasingly strained economically, militarily, and politically.
