Summer Camps For The Disabled – Thanks to YOU

…You are the LORD’s ambassadors who are inspiring life into us. Nobody cares for people with disabilities in our country, and you united us in this camp, encouraged us, and provided us with the strength to fight for our lives, restored faith, gave inspiration, and energy. We used to think that GOD was punishing us for our sins, and now we understand that GOD allowed these things to happen to make us closer to HIM and each other.”
…This camp is the first time we have met such a friendly community that supports and takes care of us. They show love to each other and us, even with the look in their eyes. The special children are not special here; they are treated the same way as all the other kids who do not have any health problems – with the same respect and sincerity.
This place is like a different country with open-hearted, joyful, and loving citizens. Everything is beautiful in this country. I wish we could be surrounded by such amazing people when we leave and return home. We are very grateful for the time we spent here. Thank you from all of us.

SUMMER CAMP STORY
Camp was a turning point in Maksym’s life.
One powerful story from this year is about Maksym, a quiet and shy boy who arrived at camp with uncertainty written all over his face. This was his first camp ever, and his first trip away from home.
His mother was understandably anxious. Maksym is being raised without a father, and for years—since first grade—he has suffered severe bullying at school. He has no friends and often reacts with aggression, simply trying to protect himself from the daily emotional attacks of his peers.
But something extraordinary happened at camp.
Over the course of the week, Maksym was surrounded by kindness, inclusion, and encouragement from other children. The boys and girls in our group welcomed him, talked with him, supported him, and treated him with genuine care. I didn’t see any aggression from him.
He seemed surprised—and even a bit awkward—at first, unsure of how to respond to such kindness. But day by day, his smile grew more relaxed and sincere.
Maksym also experienced many joyful “firsts.” He swam in a pool for the first time in his life, and after facing his initial fear, he discovered a new favorite activity—zooming down the water slide!
Most importantly, Maksym experienced seven full days of love, acceptance, and spiritual nourishment. Every day, he listened to Bible stories, prayed with us, and sang songs of praise.
At first, he was reserved and didn’t know how to answer simple questions about his dreams or favorite things. But by the end of camp, the walls began to fall. He was praying aloud, had memorized Bible verses, and confidently interacted with the group.
After returning home, we received this touching message from his mother: “Greetings. I wanted to let you know that Maksym started missing camp while we were still on the bus home. At home, all evening, we heard, ‘I want to go back to camp.’ Those words say it all… Thank you for all the good you have done for Maksym.❤️”
We’ve invited Maksym to attend Sunday school to stay connected with him and continue building this friendship.
We truly believe—and pray—that this camp was a turning point in Maksym’s life. We trust that the love he experienced and the truth he heard about God’s care and faithfulness will continue to shape his heart. And we believe that God can not only change his life—but also bring hope and healing to his mother’s life as well.
