This summer, HART partner Pastor Oleksandr organized a large-scale day-camp ministry reaching children, teenagers, and orphans from surrounding communities. Each day, approximately 200 young people from nearby villages attended—many experiencing a Christian camp for the very first time.
Pastor Oleksandr shared:
“What made these camps so special was that almost all of the children were attending camp for the first time. Most had never been to church and knew very little about God. For many, the experience became a wonderful introduction to faith—changing the way they viewed life and opening their hearts to a relationship with God.”
Testimony of one teen – Kira:
“I was scrolling through my social media feed when I stumbled upon an ad for a Christian camp. Honestly, sitting at home was incredibly boring, so I decided to go. At the same time, I never thought a Christian camp could actually be interesting. I was skeptical, but I decided to drop by for at least one day just to see.
When I arrived, I was completely shocked by how awesome everything was! I was so thrilled that after the first day, I just couldn’t miss a single one that followed. I attended the camp every day and really tried to actively help the team. My peers and I sang songs, played games, and had Bible lessons on cool topics, and I absolutely loved it. I learned so much about God there. I had never heard such things about Him before.
At camp, I saw God in a completely different way. Now that camp is over, I realize I want to learn more and more about what He is like. I want to go to church and attend the post-camp groups; when the Christian youth gathered after the camp, I felt a huge desire to be right there with them.”
Testimony of a Camp Director:
“We had 110 kids attend our camp, 90 of whom were unchurched teens. After the camp, more than 20 of them now attend our teen club. Additionally, three teenage girls have attended our Sunday service for three consecutive weeks. They didn’t attend the camp, but were following us on social media and liked what they saw. Praise God for summer camps.”

Why Pastor Conferences Matter During Wartime
For pastors and their wives in Ukraine, wartime ministry is relentless. Pastors feel they must remain strong for everyone around them. Their wives often carry the same burden—supporting their husbands, caring for their families, serving in the church, and quietly absorbing others’ pain.
A three- or four-day conference may seem brief, but it can be an extraordinary gift.
These retreats create space for God to restore weary hearts, renew marriages, strengthen friendships, and rekindle the joy of serving. They return home to the same difficult circumstances—but they return rested, encouraged, spiritually strengthened, and reminded that a family of believers stands behind them.

Natalia, the wife of a Pastor/Chaplin, says with tears in her eyes as she talks about her husband:
“I am frightened by my husband’s emotional state. He goes to extremely dangerous places every day, knowing he could be killed. When he returns home, sometimes I’m afraid to even start a conversation with him because I don’t know how he will react. I don’t judge him; I understand what he’s going through. But I am also very tired. I want to be where it is safe for our family and me, but I stayed by my husband’s side to support him.”
Svetlana is the wife of a military chaplain and says this about her husband:
“He has become very irritable and emotional. And at the same time, very sentimental. He can sit in our car for hours and cry. Before each of his trips to the front line, our family has a dinner where we say goodbye to him forever, because we don’t know if he will return home. And this is incredibly exhausting for all of us.”

Mobile Medical – Dental Bus Ministry
Bringing Healing and Hope to Ukraine
For more than 25 years, HART has helped provide free medical and dental care to vulnerable people across Ukraine—from mobile clinics and emergency surgeries to our Children’s Medical Fund.
This October, an important part of that ministry is returning.
For the first time since the full-scale war began in 2022, HART is organizing a Medical-Dental Mission in central Ukraine. In partnership with a Ukrainian Christian medical organization and one of our trusted local churches, doctors and dentists hope to provide free medical and dental care to 500–600 children, adults and seniors who would otherwise struggle to receive the treatment they need.
Pastor Vitalii, whose church is partnering with us, explained how the war has made an already difficult situation much worse:
“Even before the war, not all parents could provide adequate medical care for their children. Elderly people also lack this opportunity because of a lack of funds and a shortage of doctors. Some doctors were mobilized for the war, while others left for European countries.”
For families already struggling to pay for food, utilities, and other necessities, a visit to a doctor or dentist can simply be beyond their means.
But this mission is about more than treating illness and relieving pain.
Everyone who comes for treatment will meet Christians there to serve, listen, pray, and share the hope of the Gospel. Children and adults will also have an opportunity to receive Bibles.
Our church partners tell us that the impact of these missions often continues long after the medical teams leave. Families develop relationships with the local church. Children begin attending Sunday school. Parents visit services. And in the months that follow, some come to faith in Christ and are baptized.
The doctors may be there for a month—but the church remains long after the medical buses leave.
This October, you can help us bring healing and hope to hundreds of vulnerable people in Ukraine.
Together, we can care for the body, encourage the heart, and demonstrate the love of Christ in a very practical way.

Since 2022, Russia has damaged 4,650 educational facilities in Ukraine, with 423 completely destroyed. Every third child in Ukraine is studying online or in a hybrid format.
