Ukraine at War – Update 27, 2025

For all of us who deeply care about seeing Ukraine not only survive but thrive, last weekend’s 28-point “peace” draft from the U.S. landed with real shock. Instead of hope, it raised deep concern – setting off alarm bells about what kind of peace is being pursued, and at what cost.

The plan looked like capitulation: where Ukraine would be forced to compromise its sovereignty, territory, alliances, and its capacity to defend itself to secure peace.

When one side launches a full-scale invasion, commits untold war crimes – targeting civilians, hospitals, schools, power grids, not to mention kidnapping tens of thousands of Ukrainian children – and expects a map redrawn in its favour, the notion of a fair settlement collapses.

True peace requires justice, restoration, and dignity for the invaded, not concessions to the invader. In short, this draft was blatantly flawed.

The good news. In the video below, Professor Gerdes, one of the leading analysts on the war in Ukraine, offers hopeful insight into the current peace process. He confirmed that there is no agreement on the original 28-point proposal. Even after negotiations were narrowed to 24 points, and later to 19, it appears that Russia has rejected both versions as of Monday.

No Deal

“In today’s video, I break down what’s inside these plans, what Russia objected to, and why the Kremlin is refusing anything that limits its military or political ambitions. This pattern tells a bigger story about Moscow’s intentions—and it’s not about negotiating.” Professor Gerdes

Thank you for choosing to serve alongside us in Eastern Europe. Together, we are changing hearts, restoring hope, and saving lives during this crisis in Ukraine.

Why Your Gifts to HART Go Further

Cost-Effectiveness. Working directly with in-country partners who deeply understand the local context allows HART to maximize the impact of every dollar donated. This makes the aid delivery process more cost-efficient and more effective than most traditional models.

Strategic, Church-Based Relief. HART’s humanitarian aid is coordinated through trusted local churches, who are rooted in their communities and able to respond with both speed and compassion. This model doesn’t just save lives—it helps restore hope, dignity, and the possibility of rebuilding in the midst of crisis.

We are deeply grateful for your ongoing partnership in this Kingdom work. Because of you, local believers are showing the love of Christ in practical ways that open hearts to the Gospel. Thank you for walking alongside them every step of the way. YOUR support is a powerful force for restoration.

Heartfelt Thanks!

Sasha and Yulia are so grateful for YOUR generosity in helping them with medical costs.

A Chainsaw That Changed Everything

Vitaly grew up abandoned and overwhelmed, carrying the weight of an entire household on his young shoulders. But one sponsor’s love made a dream come true and became a turning point that restored hope.

Ukrainians Endure Blackouts

Russian attacks force authorities to impose regular cuts to the power supply. This video shows how Ukrainians arrange their lives around these blackouts.

Russia’s new energy assault is pushing Ukrainians into another winter of blackouts. We are already getting requests from our partner churches for ‘winterization’ assistance. (generators, power banks, wood, fuel, warm clothing, etc.)

Essentially, this means we’re helping people through our partner churches, to prepare, to survive, and function during the winter season amidst war-related disruption and damage.
