Ukraine’s Children in Crisis – A Generation Scarred by War
Since the war began on February 24, 2022, children have paid a devastating price. Many have lost parents, homes, and access to basic education. Millions live in constant fear, their lives disrupted by sirens, missile strikes, and displacement.
The conflict has also pushed 50–70% of families below the poverty line, ushering in a new era of child poverty.
An estimated 1.5 million children are now at risk of depression, PTSD, and long-term psychological trauma.
As UNICEF has stated, “Children need an end to this war and sustained peace to regain their childhoods… to begin to heal and recover.”

At HART, we believe children are the key to rebuilding Ukraine. That’s why we are investing in comprehensive, Christ-centered programs that nurture a child’s physical, emotional, and spiritual growth—even in the darkest times.
We’re partnering with trusted, local Christian ministries to:
● Provide safe havens and trauma care for children affected by war
● Provide life-changing summer camp experiences
● Offer sports programs to positively impact young people
● Provide after-school clubs to feed, tutor and keep kids off the streets
● Nurture abandoned children through love and care through Christian orphanages
