Ukraine at War – Update 01, 2025

Thank You for Your Prayers and Support

“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” (Hebrews 13:16)

On behalf of our 200+ church and pastor partners throughout Ukraine and the thousands of people who benefited from your sacrificial giving, we extend our heartfelt thanks for the profound impact you’ve made throughout 2024!

Thanks to your generosity, children, families, the elderly, refugees, and soldiers in Ukraine have been blessed with hope, joy, and the tangible love of Jesus. Your faithful support has been doing something extraordinary in the midst of this war—it’s transforming lives, rewriting life stories, and demonstrating the true meaning of putting God’s love into action.

Our prayer is simply that the HART Community will make 2025 even more impactful, bringing more light and love to those who need it most.

Your tremendous response to our year-end “Matching Gift” campaign (see results below) has given us a powerful boost as we embark on our mission for the year ahead!

We are deeply grateful for your prayers and support.
We couldn’t do this work without you.
May God richly bless you in the coming year!

Thanks for choosing to serve alongside us in Eastern Europe.
Together, we are… changing hearts – restoring hope
– and saving lives during this crisis in Ukraine.

From Classroom to Combat Zone

Diana, a young Ukrainian pursuing her education in Europe, found her life transformed by the outbreak of war in her homeland.

Witnessing the plight of civilians and soldiers, she felt a call in her heart to serve God by assisting those in need near the conflict zones.

What follows is the inspiring story of a young woman, with extraordinary courage and faith. READ MORE

CHURCH-HART food production factory is saving lives at the front lines!

In this video, Pastor Rostyslav thanks HART’s community for assisting his small church in producing thousands of food packages for refugees, civilians, and soldiers. To express his gratitude to HART, he has even included our logo on every package they produce, which we learned about just recently!

He explains how the army uses drones to drop these food packages into trenches for soldiers on the front lines. As Rostyslav says, “Your support is saving lives!”

Because the food is pre-cooked with meat, pasta, and vegetables, it can be eaten directly from the packages or heated up. As it can be too dangerous for soldiers at the front lines to start fires, they place the packages under their bulletproof vests and allow their body heat to warm the food for consumption! TRUMP/UKRAINE/PEACE?

This is a wide-ranging informative talk by Paul Warburg about Donald Trump winning the U.S. presidential election and what it means for Ukraine. Will aid end? And if so, what will that actually do to Ukraine? Warburg has a very clear, objective understanding of the situation in Ukraine. WATCH VIDEO

Christmas in the Trenches

Thanks to your support, during the Christmas week our Chaplaincy team embarked on a mission trip to the front lines in the East of Ukraine.

We held Christmas services for our soldiers, prayed for a just peace in Ukraine, asking God to strengthen the spirit of each warrior who is standing for his or her land against the unprovoked aggressor. They also thanked Ukrainian heroes for their courage and dedication.

As prayers and conversations were alternating with sounds of explosions nearby, the team asked one of the commanders whether he and his soldiers felt safe in the trenches. “When you are here, we feel safer than in a tank,” he responded.

It is difficult for me to put into words just how important it is to visit our soldiers, thank them for their service, give each of them a warm embrace, and pray for them.

They deeply understand that our chaplains have left their own duties, ministries, and families to travel to this dangerous zone to visit them, wish them a Merry Christmas, and bring necessary supplies and tasty treats to make their service a bit more joyful, comfortable, and manageable.

To you, dear friends, all the staff and supporters of HART, and those who are willing to sacrifice their resources to help strangers fighting in a war, our chaplaincy unit extends its heartfelt gratitude.
