USAID Suspends Work in Ukraine
A charity in Ukraine that works with war veterans and their families has announced that it will discontinue its work because the Trump-led White House suspended USAID to Ukraine and other countries around the world for 90 days.
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is best known as an organization that provides humanitarian assistance to people worldwide, including numerous projects that are critically important to Ukraine.
This sudden suspension of U.S. foreign aid is causing chaos inside Ukrainian agencies working on projects ranging from health care to landmine removers, from refugee shelters and aid distribution centers to agricultural innovations, and working with war veterans, as mentioned above.
The absence of USAID funding makes it urgent for NGOs like HART to scale up their efforts. HART’s unique ability to mobilize resources, provide direct relief through a network of partnerships with local churches, and advocate for Ukraine is now more important than ever.
Together, with your continued support, we can be instruments of God’s grace, bringing comfort to the afflicted and building a foundation in Ukraine for a brighter future.
We also urge you to be diligent in your prayers – especially that this war ends soon, and together with local Ukrainian churches, you and the rest of HART’s community will be on the ‘front lines’ of rebuilding Ukraine, one community at a time.
May God bless you richly for your desire to change the world—one heart at a time.
CHILD SPONSOR PROGRAM
What does a Child Sponsor CASEWORKER do?
Meet Olha, a woman whose journey from drug addiction to becoming one of HART’s premiere child sponsor caseworkers in Ukraine is nothing short of extraordinary. In this video, Olha shares insights into her role as a CSP caseworker, highlighting the program’s transformative impact.
Once battling alcoholism and drug addiction, Olha faced the heartbreak of losing custody of her two children to social services. After her husband’s tragic death from an overdose, she realized she needed to change her life.
With the support of a Christian rehabilitation center supported by HART, Olha turned her life around. Eventually, emerging as a clean and sober, devoted Christian with a deep love and passion for helping underprivileged children—who, like her own, have faced crisis and hardship.
This video will give you greater insight into HART’s CSP program and also features a local pastor who expresses gratitude for partnering with Olha and HART through the Child Sponsorship Program. Together, they are working to transform the lives of children and families in their community, offering hope and a brighter future.
